 Crater Aristarchus and Vallis Schröteri

The full moon

The region around the very bright crater Aristarchus includes the Schröter valley. You can find other images of this area on these pages: Aristarchus 1 , Aristarchus 2, Aristarchus 3

It is assumed that the Schröter-Valley was formed by a lava flow.

This image was taken with my self-built 6" Dob, a 25mm TAL-Plössl eyepiece and a hand-held Nikon 4500 digital camera.
