 Full Moon

When the moon is full, the relief of the lunar landscape is invisible. During full moon only the brightness differences between different types of terrain are visible.
The dark "mare" are in fact very old and big craters flooded with basalt. The fresh impact scars on the moon are bright.

This image was made with a Nikon Coolpix 950 digital camera through a 70/700 Optus refractor outfitted with a 20mm Eyepiece and the Vixen digital camera adaptor.
