The full moon

The double Crater Messier

What kind of impact caused this highlight of the moon is still under debate. Either a double impactor or a single rebounding impactor are discussed. Because of the ejecta-ray (to the upper right in this image) it seems to be a safe assumption that the impact was very oblique.
